Reflections: Body Image Program

"Helping Women Achieve Healthy Mind,Body and Spirit"

Tridelta's Reflections program and Fat-Talk-Free Week is the first peer-led, evidence-based eating disorder prevention program shown to truly work. Rather than focusing on eating disorders, Tridelta's program creates and reaffirms positive and healthy personal body image. We recently introduced the Sorority Body Image Program to our chapter, and our members are actively working with the entire student body at U of I to end "Fat-talk".

Partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Tri Delta officially partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 1999, and since then, our organization has raised more than $12 million benefiting their facility in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2006, Tridelta earned a patient care floor in the Chili's Care Center, and each year we send two members of our chapter to visit. Our chapter prides itself in being a large contributor to St. Jude. We annually participate in a letter writing campaign called Sincerely Yours, in which each member writes 50 letters encouraging family and friends to donate. In 2009, our chapter alone raised $26,745 just by sending sincerely yours letters!

Greeks at Bat Event

Additionally, we host a philanthropy event called Greeks at Bat on campus every spring. All of our chapter members coach teams of Illinois students in a two-day softball tournament. This spring we had 60 teams participate! All of the proceeds from this event are donated to St. Jude.

Tridelta D-Hop Event

We host a philanthropy event the Tri Delt house called D-Hop every year where we sell tickets to students on campus to come enjoy a delicious breakfast meal. Last year we had a full cafeteria of guests. All the proceeds from these event are donated to St. Jude, and who doesn't love unlimited pancakes?!
